When I was a child we would pick the bright yellow dandelions and tie them together to make necklaces. After the golden blossoms turned into the tufted seed puffballs we would pick them, close our eyes and blow the feathery parachutes making wishes as we did. The breeze carried the seeds off just as if they themselves had wings. The dandelion is a tough, independent flower growing freely where ever it may find a patch of dirt to root down into. This free spirited flower is often called a weed, but it represents childhood memories, passion, commitment and endurance.
The dandelion is a magical flower that allows us to believe that our wishes may come true.
